CPR Classes

American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Courses Available through TCEMS

BLS for Healthcare Providers

Course Content:  adult, child and infant CPR; use of the bag valve mask; foreign body airway obstruction; AED
Recommended Audience:  healthcare providers including EMS, first responders, physician's assistants, doctors, nurses, dentists, etc.
Approximate Course Length: 4.5 hrs.

Heartsaver CPR

Course Content:  Adult and child CPR and choking, infant CPR and choking.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional.
Recommended Audience:  Non-healthcare providers who must have CPR certification due to job or regulatory requirements, including child care workers and lifeguards.
Approximate Course Length:  2-3 hours depending on number of modules included.

Heartsaver AED

Course Content:  Adult and child CPR and choking, adult and child AED, infant CPR and choking.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional.
Recommended Audience:  Non-healthcare providers who must have CPR certification due to job or regulatory requirements, including child care workers and lifeguards.
Approximate Course Length:  2.5 – 3.5 hours depending on number of modules included.

Heartsaver First Aid

Course Content:  Adult first aid including medical and injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, adult and child CPR, adult and child AED, infant CPR.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional. 
Recommended Audience:  Non-healthcare providers who must have First Aid certification due to job or regulatory requirements.
Approximate Course Length:  3.5 – 7.5 hours depending on modules included.

Pediatric First Aid

Course Content:  First Aid Basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, optional first aid topics, adult and child CPR, adult and child AED, infant CPR.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional.
Recommended Audience:  Non-healthcare providers involved in child care who must have First Aid certification due to job or regulatory requirements, including child day care workers, teachers, camp counselors, coaches.
Approximate Course Length:  6.5 – 7.5 hours depending on modules included.

Heartsaver CPR in Schools

Course Content:  Adult and child CPR and choking, adult and child AED, infant CPR and choking.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional.
Recommended Audience:  Middle and high school students who require CPR certification.

Family and Friends CPR

Course Content:  Adult and child CPR and choking, infant CPR and choking.  This course is taught in modules, some of which are optional.
Recommended Audience:  Anyone who wants to learn CPR but does not need a course completion card.
Approximate Course Length:  1.25 – 2.5 hours depending on modules included.

Family and Friends First Aid for Children

Course Content:  Injury prevention, basic first aid emergencies, child and infant choking.
Recommended Audience:  Anyone who wants basic infant and child first aid information but does not require a course completion credential.
Approximate course Length:  45 minutes.
